HOW DO I TAKE PHOTOS?

Press and hold the camera-switch button at the bottom right. A tap switches between the front and back cameras; a press and hold changes what the shutter does. The record button turns white in photo mode. Press and hold again to go back to video.

HOW DO I RESIZE OR HIDE THE SCRIPT?

Drag the handle just below the script. Drag it right down to read over the whole screen, or double-tap it to put the script away and see the picture clean. If you would rather not have a teleprompter at all, you can switch it off in Settings, under Teleprompter.

I PAID FOR THE UNLOCK AND IT IS NOT SHOWING

Open Settings, then Features, and tap "Restore a previous purchase". The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so check you are signed in with the same account you bought it with. It works on every iPhone you sign in on, and for anyone in your Family Sharing group.

WHY CAN I NOT CHOOSE APPLE LOG, HDR, OR A PARTICULAR FRAME RATE?

MAX Cam only offers what your iPhone can actually record. Not every model has an Apple Log format, and not every combination of resolution, frame rate and stabilization will run on every phone. Anything unavailable is shown as unavailable rather than quietly ignored, and the note under each setting says why.

WHERE DO MY RECORDINGS GO?

Into your photo library, as soon as a take finishes. MAX Cam can only add to your library. It cannot read, browse or delete anything already there.

DOES MY SCRIPT OR MY VOICE LEAVE THE PHONE?

No. MAX Cam has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and makes no network requests of its own. If you turn on voice following, your speech is recognised entirely on the iPhone.

THE PICTURE STUTTERED, OR FRAMES WERE DROPPED

High frame rates, 4K, HDR and Apple Log all make the camera work hard, and iOS reduces performance as the phone heats up. MAX Cam warns you when it is getting hot. Turning off the monitoring aids, such as the histogram, zebra stripes and focus peaking, gives the camera back some room.
